Program Description

Saint Leo University's online Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems provides you with strong foundational knowledge in programming, project management, information security, internet applications, systems analysis, and helps you implement technological solutions that optimize organizational performance. Designed in strict adherence to the recommendations provided by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the curriculum helps you manage information systems and excel in the dynamic and fast-changing digital industry. 

This program equips you with the skills to identify the technical requirements of an organization, design computing-driven solutions accordingly, and achieve strategic goals. Like a true expert in the field, you will be able to safeguard information integrity through resilient network security and manage databases that store a huge amount of data. Develop proficiency in programming languages and develop IT strategies that address complex business challenges and support organizational growth. Students must successfully complete 120 credits to graduate from this program. The credit requirements are distributed in 4 types of study areas:

  • Common Body of Knowledge Subjects (36 credits)
  • University Exploration Subjects (42 credits)
  • Disciplinary Subjects (24 credits)
  • General Electives - Complete enough general elective credit hours to meet the total hours required to earn the degree.
